On Sunday the 14th of November I launch my album into the world with a special outdoor concert held in the picturesque amphitheatre at The Mallee Fowl Restaurant, Berri. Gates will open at 2pm and entry by donation at the gate.
The afternoon will start with a performance from special guest and local Riverland talent Jason Gwiazda. My band and I will then take to the stage for the album launch performance.
If the weather turns a bit sour the performance will still be at the same venue but inside.
It might be Friday the 13th today but I'm feeling pretty lucky.
A few days ago Anthony Stewart from Red Brick Music and myself finally finished the mixing of the album! Wow what a feeling it was to drive home with my finished songs playing in the CD player of my car. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Anthony, not only is he a top bloke but he is extremely professional, knowledgeable and very humble... ta Anthony!
Not realising if/how we could make the music sound any better I went into the studios at Disk-Edits yesterday where the master of mastering, Neville Clark, polished my tunes and took them to an audible level I never knew possible! Having worked with high profile groups like The Hilltop Hoods, The Audreys and Peter Coombe (among 1000's of others!) I felt blessed to have him work on my tunes.
I feel extremely lucky to have been in the capable hands of both Anthony and Neville for the making of this album, big thanks to them both for helping out!
well today I found out that 3 out of the 3 of my songs entered were shortlisted in the Australian Songwriting Competition!! "Stronger Wiser", "World of Mine" and "Small Town Syndrome"! I'm pretty chuffed considering the songs I entered had were not properly mixed when I entered them! Consequently I have popped a bottle of my favourite bubbly.... Arras... and I'm feeling pretty good right about now!
Here's some footage from the last year's Feast Festival event, "Sing Out!". I was teamed up with community participant Rachel Rivers, and told her story through the lyrics of my song "Small Town Syndrome". Its a song i'm really proud of and I think that many people who have lived in a small community will find some connection to this song....enjoy!
