This year the Adelaide Guitar Festival were ramping up to have another outrageously good line-up of national and international guitar stars performing at the festival. As a result of the COVID curve-ball the festival put on a series of performances with locals who have performed at the festival, filmed in the backstage workshop area of the Festival Theatre. I was honoured to be invited to join the local super stars in those sessions and now those performers will be taking their performances live onto the stage of the newly renovated Her Magesty's Theatre!
In the wings of the Festival Theatre, Adelaide Guitar Festival favourites along with some of Adelaide’s most talented emerging musicians recently came together to collaborate on a series of exclusive mini-concert recordings dubbed The Backstage Sessions.
Now in the brand new and redeveloped Her Majesty’s Theatre, join these world-class guitarists performing their sessions live on stage in a special showcase event. Hosted by Sam McMahon and featuring sets from Chris Finnen, Cal Williams Jr & Kory Horwood, Kelly Menhennett & Band, The Tom Kneebone Trio, Mike Bevan & Alain Valodze, The Django Rowe Quintet, The Yearlings and Slava & Sharon Grigoryan, watch The Backstage Sessions how they were always meant to be seen – live!
Featuring guest appearance from South Australian 2020 Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition finalist, Connor Whyte.
